Magic Wall

Magic Wall by artist Ana Uribe is located in the Cedar Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Painted over a backdrop reminicient of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, this mural focuses on the the theme of adult mentors and the knowledge they give to children as they watch over them, reaching for the stars. The mural was painted with the help of children from the summer camp located at an adjacent playground. They painted a series of windows that reflected their own houses from the vantage point of outside looking in. The windows appear in the lower portion of the mural. To prepare for the painting, the artist discussed the project with the children and taught them how to make paper flowers.
