McCloskey School

McCloskey School by artist Beth Clevenstine is located on the John F. McCloskey School, in the East Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural is composed mostly of mosaic glass and painting. The mosaic wraps around the front entrance of the school, bringing a wash of color to the red brick building. Tall branches of winter trees flank the doors of the building leading viewers and visitors inside. Along the edges of the the mosaic viewers move through the other three seasons experiencing lush green and orange vegetation.
