Morning Glory “Matuzahor”

Morning Glory “Matuzahor” by artist Alexandre “Psyckoze” Stolypine is located in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The three figures in the design are holding on to each other, working as a team to guide the “machine” of humanity. The central figure’s heart is guiding the piston of the machine running throughout the lower section of the mural. It is a representation of the link between human, industry, and society. The machine’s gears are another playful nod to the past and present as they were created with the building’s former machine-part illustrations and modern-day bicycle gears. The background is the artist’s vision of our city, between urban settings and the natural world.
Location Note: Mural is located next to a construction site and may not be visible for much longer (as of October 2023).
