Mount Airy Way

Mount Airy Way, created by artist Natalie Flor Negrón, is located in Philadelphia’s Mount Airy neighborhood. It was created as part of the Mount Airy Walls series. The mural presents a dreamscape of the flora, fauna and architecture of the neighborhood that hosts it. The artist grew up in the area and draws
on her memories of that time, as well as on sketchbook drawings
created on walks through the area.

The artist describes the work:

“Hidden treasures on a whimsical path,
Native trees, Antique rose. Of years past history, Generations hold,
New beginnings, Shifts and moves.
Enchanting, Wondering winding steps, Cobblestones and brick.
The Wissahickon shining schist, Climb atop the stones.
Ethereal, Deep Breath, Finding your way home.”
