One Philly, A United City, With Love
Part of Mayor Cherelle Parker’s greater Gateways project beautifying Philadelphia highways, One Philly, A United City, With Love is a bold, dynamic mural on the CSX wall along the Northeast Amtrak corridor, facing the iconic Boathouse Row. Beautiful and inspiring expressions of color greet residents and visitors alike as they traverse I-76 ahead of the FIFA World Cup to America 250.
Artist Calo Rosa along I-76 was chosen in October 2025 through a closed selection process with the city. His postcard-style design blends street art, color theory, and skillful artistry to transform an important city vista and welcome the world to Philadelphia for an unforgettable summer.
This installation is one of Mural Arts Philadelphia’s greatest undertakings yet, painted directly on the wall over two months with a team of more than eight artists. The entire team took Amtrak safety training in order to paint the 16,000-square-foot wall on the tracks at night from 12-4 am.
“This has been one of the most challenging and ambitious projects I’ve ever worked on, and it would not have been possible without the talent, experience, and commitment of this incredible team,” Lead Artist Calo Rosa said. “We never imagined we’d have the opportunity to paint at such an important graffiti spot for the city. I’m beyond grateful to everyone who believed in this project and has been down since day one for something of this magnitude. A project this big takes trust, teamwork, and vision—and this crew brought it all.”
About the Artist
Calo Rosa comes from a family of artists with diverse media, including graphic design, Brazilian percussion, oil painting, and cake-making. He holds a degree in Fine and Visual Arts from the Centro Nacional de Artes (CENAR) and a degree in graphic design from Don Bosco University. After becoming frustrated with the exclusivity of the San Salvador gallery scene, he began to define his own street art style. His colorful pieces portray the vibrant Latin American culture, and mirror the sounds, roots, and forms of the urban-tropical lifestyle.
