Paine’s Park Temporary Installation

Fantastical creatures were visible along the Schuylkill River Trail in April/May 2013. Artists Yis Goodwin (aka NoseGo), Nathaniel Lee, and Malachi Floyd collaborated on a set of Fairmount Park inspired woodland creatures and other more surreal characters located along the temporary fencing cordoning off the Paine’s Park construction site that spring. The project was a collaboration between Mural Arts, Paine’s Skatepark Fund, and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation.

The full install remained up throughout construction, which was completed in May 2013.
