Philadelphia Civic Center interior murals (1986)

A series of 20 interior murals (likely painted on substrate) created by the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network for the Philadelphia Civic Center in West Philadelphia. Murals often featured scenes related to Philadelphia history, the cityscape, and iconic images such as the Liberty Bell.

Murals painted by the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network (PAGN), a City agency and the precursor to the Mural Arts Program, were created with the goal of transforming graffiti writers’ talents into positive community arts initiatives. Read more about Mural Arts’ history here.

Location Note: Murals no longer on view at this location (date of removal unknown).
