Reflecting Rhythms

Reflecting Rhythms by artists Michelle Angela Ortiz, and Henry Bermudez was located in the Hawthorne neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Featuring an abstract background and recognizable musicians this mural was a celebration of the jazz roots of Philadelphia. The figures seen in the mural included saxophonist and composer John Coltrane who moved to Philadelphia at 17 years old, Philadelphia born trumpeter and composer Lee Morgan, Shirley Scott the “Queen of the Organ,” and others.
