Riverside Garden

Riverside Garden by artist Michael Schwartz is located at the Riverside Correctional Facility in the Holmesburg neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Outside in one of the prison yards these murals bring a wash of colors to the area, contrasting with the harshness of the prison walls and fenced grounds. These murals bring aspects of tenderness and growth to the individuals incarcerated in the walls providing an opportunity for introspection and growth for themselves.
