Rolling

Rolling by artist Paul Santoleri is installed at the Penrose Avenue underpass at 26th Street in southwest Philadelphia. The mural provides a brightly colored scene full of abstract flowers and vegetation growing under a bridge created with mosaic. The mural transforms the site using pattern and color to convey a sense of a major gateway into Philadelphia from the Philadelphia Airport. The mural provides a brightly colored scene full of abstract flowers and lush vegetation growing under a bridge created with mosaic, mirroring the real-life surroundings in a fantastic way. Santoleri also added bicycles and spokes to denote another mode of transportation through which many people experience the space. He has also included more pattern and color to cover the surfaces in the middle of the highway to add drama as people travel through this gateway.
