Roots Across Waters: Boricua in Philadelphia

Roots Across Waters: Boricua in Philadelphia by artist Priscilla Bell Lamberty is located in the interior of TD Bank branch in the Feltonville neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This piece focuses on embracing and honoring Puerto Rican heritage, celebrating the island’s rich history and culture while fostering a connection between Puerto Rico and the Boricua diaspora. It emphasizes bringing Puerto Rican culture to Philadelphia and contributing to the vibrant tapestry of diverse cultures from around the world.

Native Philadelphia artist, Priscilla Bell Lamberty, earned her BFA in 2D fine arts and an MFA in painting. Priscilla draws inspiration from her family, environment, and cultural heritage. She specializes in exploring themes such as parenthood, environmental justice, and the visibility of empowerment in Black, Brown, and Indigenous Caribbean communities.

This project is part of a long-term partnership between TD Bank and Mural Arts Philadelphia that highlights the work of local and emerging artists within TD Bank stores.
