The Fable of the Peregrine Falcon and the Red-Bellied Turtle

The Fable of the Peregrine Falcon and the Red-Bellied Turtle, by artist Cesar Viveros, is located in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural is a narrative of the Manayunk towpath, featuring two prominent symbols of strength and wisdom, the falcon and the red-bellied turtle, amidst winterberries, summersweets, black-eyed Susans, ferns, and other local flora.

The artist met with neighborhood stakeholders over the course of several months to develop a design that reflected the natural beauty of the location; the final result is a vibrant collage of colors and changing seasons.
