The Five Principles

The Five Principles by artist Priscilla Bell is an interior mural installed in the lobby of the City of Philadelphia Office of Community Empowerment & Opportunity (OCEVS) office in Center City Philadelphia. The purpose of the mural was to help build a sense of unity between two separate city agencies that were recently merged together. The mural’s design around the principles of the five departments: Dignity, Inclusivity, Persistence, Accountability, and Honesty. These themes emerged from from the mission statement of the newly formed office and some of the imagery came from photographs of staff members doing their work in the field.

Location Note: Interior mural installed in the 18th Floor Lobby of the Office of Community Empowerment & Opportunity at One Penn Center. Mural may not be available for public viewing outside of business hours.
