The Game is Yours

The Game is Yours is an interior mural commissioned by Philadelphia Youth Basketball for their their Sixth Man Center facility in the Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mural celebrates female empoweerment. Artist Dyymond Whipper Young led two highly interactive and successful workshops with young female students who talked about quotes they found inspiring and black female athletes that they look up to. Dyymond took these concepts, and borrowed colors from the court across the way from the wall where her mural was to be located, and created a beautiful and eye-popping design that jumps off the wall. The students were elated to see their vision come to life and spoke about how they see themselves in the faces depicted in the mural.
