The Royal

The Royal by artist Eric Okdeh was located on South Street in the Southwest City Center neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural depicted the history of the Royal Theater, the first and largest movie theater catering to African Americans when it was built in 1920, along with some of its most famous performers Billy Pauls, Bessie Smith, Pearl Bailey, and Fats Waller.
