The Sound of Philly

The Sound of Philly by artist Case Mc’Claim is located in the Pennsport neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Sound of Philly is a long exposure mural by Case Ma’Claim that draws inspiration fromone of the many heartbeats of Philadelphia, the drumline. The Positive Movement Drumline(P.M.D.), highlighted here, has become as synonymous to Philadelphia as its sports teams. Lead by Tony Royster, aka the Philly Elmo, this group of kids and young adults march through our communities spreading positivity through the power of music and movement. To create this image, Case Ma’Claim met with members of the P.M.D. (Tony, DoNavan and Matthew), staged his own photo shoot and joined them in rhythm and dance, becoming a collaborative work between artist and musicians.
