Tomorrow, Our Seeds Will Grow

Tomorrow, Our Seeds Will Grow is a collaborative effort between Disston Elementary students participating in mural arts after-school education, and artist Rosie Morales. Incorporating themes covered by Mural Arts teaching artist Sarah Kolker, students contributed artwork and engaged in several brainstorming sessions to create imagery representing both the importance of pollination, native flora and fauna of Pennsylvania, as well as school color themes and the school mascot, a dragon. The mural showcases a cardinal, a bee, a squirrel, native butterflies, and deer, as well as native flowers vital to the cycle of pollination. The sky reflects a honeycomb pattern to represent and reiterate the importance of bees within our ecosystem.

Location Note: This mural is inside a school building, and therefore not accessible for public viewing.
