Tree Walk

Tree Walk by artist Paul Santoleri is located in Center City, Philadelphia. The mural is a beautiful landscape scene that brightens the walkway between what used to be the Rohm & Haas building, an adjacent parking garage, and the building that formerly housed the now-defunct Atwater Kent Museum. Santoleri discovered that street names were carved into the first level of the concrete structure. Inspired by this, he created panels depicting the flora for each — Walnut, Locust, Spruce and Pine and, where no names were carved, carried out the theme by adding such panels as Tulip, Strawberry, etc.
Location Note: Mural was retired as part of the Mural Arts Philadelphia collection in 2010 (it was to be covered by construction). However, as of 2021, portions of the mural were still visible.
