Wall of Rugs, #2: The Global Language of Textiles

Wall of Rugs, #2 The Global Language of Textiles by artist Kathryn Pannepacker is located in the Hartranft neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The project consists of two murals located on overpasses spanning railroad tracks to the south and west of the intersection of Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia. The murals feature a number of different textile patterns representing cultures and countries from around the world. Some of the textiles represent the communities from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Central Africa, Sri Lanka, and Puerto Rico who have settled in this part of Philadelphia.

Additional Wall of Rugs murals in this series are located at the intersection of Belmont and Girard Avenues in West Philadelphia.
