The artist describes the mural on their website: “When creating this piece, the only thing I could think of was how much looking to the future has kept people fighting for what they deserve. Living with even a tiny bit of self-awareness can be incredibly exhausting. We look at so many past events and collectively sigh. We sit in current events and surprise, we sigh. We look at the future and consider sighing but also hope that something is going to be better.

“This piece draws connections between the past, present, and future but goes a bit further to celebrate how those past events can teach us a lot and in turn create a bright, colorful, and wonderful future.”
