Mural Arts’ commitment to artists is steadfast and we work every day to open new avenues for opportunities. Their bold visions and infinite creativity are the lifeblood of our initiatives. We are always ready tof  encourage the evolution of artists in diverse ways. Led by Emilio Maldonado, our Artist Relations Office champions the cause of artists by providing avenues for learning, professional development, and advocacy for their concerns and interests.

Across Mural Arts, several core programs serve as conduits for nurturing future artists. This includes our Arts Education program, which collaborates with various Philadelphia schools to cultivate the emerging generation of artists, giving voice to young visionaries. The Restorative Justice’s Guild program pairs art education with personal and professional development and direct assistance on mural projects, fostering robust, positive alliances between returning citizens and communities impacted by justice.

Now entering its fourth year, our Philadelphia Fellowship for Black Artists continues to support, promote, and amplify the vital contributions of Black artists in all mediums residing within Philadelphia. This seven-month initiative allows our Fellows to engage with a public art curriculum that includes workshops on project planning, community engagement, mural design, and installation, fostering collaboration with community members and fellow artists.
