The Top 5 Top-of-the-World Moments from 2015

In 2015, we went sky high – literally. Our ideas and our murals stretched us into new ways of thinking and seeing and creating. And what better way to capture the grand scale then by looking out over our city?

On the side of the 25-story Graham Building, Ibrahim glances out at the city. To get him wheatpasted up there, though, artist JR and his team spent a few days hanging out at the top of the city – and then rapelled down the side of the building to paste Ibrahim’s fingers around the corner!

It was easy to lose yourself in the maze of Sam Durant’s Labyrinth. Looking down from the Municipal Services Building, you can see the maze structure in a whole new light, giving us a clear picture of one of our most complicated systems.

Up on the rooftops, you get a sense of the architecture found in Philadelphia – and the amazing structural fabric of our city. Look down and to the right to get a great view of Shepard Fairey’s DJ Mural.

Jackie Robinson slides home with The North Philadelphia Beacon Project and a busy North Broad Street as a vivid backdrop.

Philly laid out in all it’s glory, river to river, with the colorful parkway pointing the way to City Hall. Mural designers Jessie and Katey spent six days painting this vibrant ground mural last June, and its warmth and playfulness are a happy reminder of days of summer fun.
