Summer of Service Closing Event

Summer of Service showcases the collaborative work of over 100 young people (ages 14–18) participating in Mural Arts’ summer Career Connected Learning Philadelphia (C2L-PHL) program, presented in partnership with the City of Philadelphia, the School District of Philadelphia, and JEVS Human Services.
Over the course of six weeks, students explored the community mural-making process while engaging directly with civic services and the individuals who provide them. Through interviews and hands-on research, they created a youth-designed mural series that highlights the humanity behind public service roles—amplifying the voices of the often-unsung individuals who keep our city running. This exhibition is both a celebration of their stories and a call to action to support and value these essential services.
The C2L-PHL program offers Philadelphia youth a paid, six-week early-exposure experience to creative career pathways, blending artistic practice with civic engagement and workforce readiness.
