Everything’s Coming Up Monument Lab

This is shaping up to be a monumental fall, with a month and a half still to go for our biggest project ever. We hope we’ll see you at Promument tonight, dancing to QUESTLOVE and making art with Steve Powers. No matter how tired we are in the morning, we’ll be at it again in Franklin Square on Saturday for another Spotlight event. Here’s where you can find Monument Lab all week long.

Emeka Ogboh featuring Ursula Rucker: Logan Squared, Sundays through November 19

WHAT
Incorporating poetry and music, this sound installation is a monument to Philadelphia sound and collective memory, creating an immersive experience. Free.

Monumental Exchange #2

WHAT
A dialogue between Monument Lab artists Mel Chin and Tyree Guyton on the role of the artist in the context of monument-making, and on their current installations at City Hall and in Kensington. Free.

Youth Monument to the Future with King Britt and Joshua Mays

WHAT
A one-night-only performance, created in collaboration with students from our Art Education program, featuring music, collected sound samples, and student-designed banners and artwork. Free.
