What to do this weekend with Mural Arts

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out all of the Mural Arts happenings!

On Saturday, get to the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby on the early side, and help dedicate the mural, Welcome to the Neighborhood. Painted by local favorites Brad Carney and Jeffrey Kilpatrick, the mural depicts scenes from life in Fishtown. The dedication starts at 11 a.m., and will happen rain or shine.

Take a lunch break, then head to Al Aqsa Islamic Society for the dedication of Windows of Peace, a beautifully patterned mural created by artists Parris Stancell and Joe Brenman. Join your neighbors and friends in cheering the new mural as well as the restoration of Doorways to Peace, and in celebrating with lots of great food.

On Sunday, show off your creative side at our Painting a Healthy City event, held in conjunction with the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services. Grab a paint brush and color in a mural-in-progress by artists James Burns and Eric Okdeh, and learn about all of the mental health services the city has to offer.

And all weekend, you can check out the fantastic Mural Arts tours whirling their way around our awesome city.
Enjoy your weekend!
