El Yunque

El Yunque by artists Michelle Angela Ortiz and Jose Ali Paz was located in the Fairhill neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

These murals depict the El Yunque National Forest, during both the day and night. El Yunque is a tropical rainforest in Puerto Rico and the only rain forest in the US National Forest system.

The first mural to be completed was the sunrise image, dedicated during Mural Arts Month October, 2002. The sunset mural was finished in December, 2002.

The murals were restored by Carlos Vasquez in 2015.
