Vernon Marks

Vernon Marks by artist Peter Pagast is located in the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural depicts community leader Vernon Marks. Marks was an activist who worked for the community and fought for equal opportunities in jobs and housing. He was known to have a love of children.

The mural includes the inscription:

“Because of his life-long commitments and achievements, his genuine trust, love and admiration for people of all walks of life, Mr. Marks is considered a living legend and no amount of honor is befitting his love of his people.”

The mural was restored in 2021.
