Thomas Alva Edison High School Mosaic Mural (title unknown)

This mural by artist Paul Santoleri is a multimedia mural composed of painted and mosaic parts on the exterior of the Thomas Alva Edison High School in the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Decorating the main entrance of the school this mural features several components. A painted wall runs beneath a row of windows to the left of the entrance featuring swirling shapes and geometric patterns. In front of the school are a series of mosaic cylinders and square painted planters. To the right of the main entrance is an abstract sun rising over the top of a mosaic flower completing what could be understood as a mural about the growth or a seed into a flower. A poignant reminder of the students growing into adults inside the halls of the school.
