The Gateway Garden

The Gateway Garden was created by Jane Golden as part of the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network. It was created in partnership with PHS Philadelphia Green. Painted on the side of a private residence, the mural faces an empty lot that has been turned into a garden. The mural depicts a white picket fence next to a stone house, over which appears a lush landscape. Its trompe l’oeil style extends the real garden into a pastoral space.
Location Note: Mural no longer on view at this location (date of removal unknown but before 2007).
