Andre Chaney

Andre Chaney is a Philadelphia-based public artist, muralist, painter, illustrator, and author whose multidisciplinary practice explores hope, identity, imagination, and the extraordinary moments found within everyday life. Through public art, painting, and visual storytelling, Chaney creates vibrant, narrative-driven work designed to foster connection between people, stories, and place.

His growing public art portfolio includes Voyage of Becoming, a four-wall mural installation at Girard College; Once Upon a Time in Logan at the Logan Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia; and work for Afromation Avenue celebrating the history and legacy of Philadelphia’s historic 7th Ward. His broader creative practice includes public-facing commissions and collaborations with cultural institutions, community organizations, and civic partners throughout Philadelphia.

In 2025, Chaney was selected as Mural Arts Philadelphia’s featured emerging artist for Mural Arts Month, creating Where Art Meets Hope, the campaign’s signature artwork. In 2026, he was commissioned to design and hand-paint a Philadelphia Phillies-themed Liberty Bell for the MLB All-Star festivities in Philadelphia as part of America250PA’s Bells Across PA initiative.

Across murals, public installations, painting, and illustration, Chaney’s work is grounded in storytelling and possibility, inviting audiences to see themselves, their communities, and familiar environments through a more imaginative lens.
