60th Street Deli murals

Small mural(s) on the side of a deli in West Philadelphia, possibly by artist William Freeman. The scenes were somewhat Edward Hopper-esque, featuring people sitting and eating at a lunch counter inside the deli. Murals were created as part of the Philadelphia Ant-Graffiti Network.

Murals painted by the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network (PAGN), a City agency and the precursor to the Mural Arts Program, were created with the goal of transforming graffiti writers’ talents into positive community arts initiatives. Read more about Mural Arts’ history here.

Location Note: Murals no longer on view at this location (date of removal unknown).
