BELIEVE sits boldly across a dark blue wall, emphasized by several colorful drop shadows. Placed at the entrance of Horizon House’s Susquehanna Park facility, it is a reminder and affirmation of the residents’ road to recovery. Artist James Burns created this simple, bold design as part of the second year partnership with Horizon House. He chose the word “believe” based on group discussions with residents, and one on one conversations with participants and staff members. Several paint days were held where the residents helped paint the mural. It represents the spirit of growth, resiliency and transformation in recovery.

Believe is one of two murals by James Burns created at the Horizon House Susquehanna Park facility as part of this project. The other is entitled PEACE IS GOLD, AND THE SONG I WISH TO HEAR
