Black Family Farm

Black Family Farm was created by Jane Golden and Dietrich Adonis as part of the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network. Located in North Philadelphia, the mural was created to reflect the farming histories and lifestyle of the families who left their family farms in the South to move and settle in the community surrounding the mural. The idea was to give young people some idea about where their food came from – beyond the grocery or corner store. The mural was one in a series of Black family farm-themed murals created in the area.

Location Note: Mural likely no longer on view at this location (date of removal unknown but probably before 2009).
