Mural at 4005 Chestnut Street (1985)

This record is for a small mural at 40th and Chestnut Street in West Philadelphia that is no longer on view, created as part of the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network (PAGN). It was one of a number of small murals PAGN did in different neighborhoods on a weekly basis.

Murals painted by the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network (PAGN), a City agency and the precursor to the Mural Arts Program, were created with the goal of transforming graffiti writers’ talents into positive community arts initiatives. Read more about Mural Arts’ history here.

Location Note: Mural no longer on view at this location (date of removal unknown, but prior to 2007).
