Roberto Clemente Playground

The murals and mosaics at Roberto Clemente Playground (title unknown) by artists Paul Salonteri and Mike Smash are painted on the four walls of the recreation center at Roberto Clemente Playground in the Spring Garden neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mural artist Paul Santoleri designed a painted mural that intended to include and harmonize existing graffiti tags.

Mosaic artist Mike Smash and a group of adjudicated youths from the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program’s Artscape Program created this mosaic mural. The group worked for over six months to created floral mosaic pieces that would later be attached to the recreation center wall.
