Santander Bank Mural Project

This mural by artist Betsy Casañas celebrates Puerto Rican culture in the Fairhill neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Community members participated in the production of the mural at a paint day held at Concilio, the Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations of Philadelphia. Casañas describes the mural as depicting “the strength, pride, joy and resilience found in the community. It is a celebration of life and depicts the interlacing of music and creativity in every form of expression, whether it be in moments of celebration or protests. The resilience of the people is infused with creative spirit.”
