The Angel Coming Down

The Angel Coming Down by artist Frito Bastien is located in the Norris Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A hallmark of many of Bastien’s murals is painting in the traditional folk style of his home country of Haiti. He worked with the community to develop the uplifting design of the angel watching over the elders and youth of the community while they are engaged in their gardening and communal activities. The mural offers a gently whimsical treatment of a traditional spiritual theme.
