West Shore murals, 47th & Linmore Streets (1985)
A series of landscape/garden scene murals (3 walls and 25 facades, titles unknown) by Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network in Philadelphia’s West Shore neighborhood. The murals were developed with neighborhood block captains and created backdrops for community gardens.
Murals painted by the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network (PAGN), a City agency and the precursor to the Mural Arts Program, were created with the goal of transforming graffiti writers’ talents into positive community arts initiatives. Read more about Mural Arts’ history here.
Location Note: Murals no longer on view at this location (date of removal unknown).
