Designed by artist Bernard Collins Jr., this powerful mural honors the generations of Black dancers, choreographers, and educators—from Essie Marie Dorsey to Joan Myers Brown—whose artistry and leadership shaped Philadelphia’s cultural identity and influenced dance around the world. Community members of all ages are invited to pick up a brush and help bring this important tribute to life.
