Build for What’s Next
Built for What’s Next by artist Briana Dawkins is a mural created in partnership with The Urban Technology Project (UTP) and Launch Philadelphia. UTP is the School District of Philadelphia’s I.T. Apprenticeship Program. In support of this program, the mural is about where learning meets doing, and how pathways into tech take shape. Through mentorship, experience, and support, participants in UTP build futures rooted in skill, confidence, and opportunity.
The mural depicts the UTP logo surrounded by vignettes of the variety of kinds of students and activities that the project supports: young men and women learning about computers, repair mechanical devices, and receive instruction in a classroom. The Philadelphia skyline appears at the bottom of the mural, depicting the place where these activities happen.
Location Note: This is an interior mural located in the basement of The School District of Philadelphia building. It may not always be available for public viewing.
