“Inside Outside” | Heart of Kensington Creates Photo Exhibition
Visit UV Space in Kensington to explore Inside Outside, a new photography exhibit by photographer and artist Paolo Morales, in collaboration with Kensington residents.
Artist In-Gallery Hours: Saturday, October 17 and October 24, 11 am-2 pm
Combining portraits of and by local residents, the exhibition brings together an inside and outside perspective on how community looks and feels in Kensington in 2026. The exhibition is on view at UV Space this October, Mural Arts Month, as part of Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Heart of Kensington Creates initiative with Councilperson Quetcy Lozada’s Office and Impact Services.
The exhibition features black-and-white photographs taken by Morales over the past 10 years in Kensington from his series Memphis Tulips, portraying people who are struggling but still taking care of each other. These are paired with color photographs made by local residents in Kensington in collaboration with The Simple Way, in response to the prompt: What does community look and feel like in photographs?
